6. University students with the required admission card can use up to 2 books at a time in the reading rooms reserved for them; however, they are only allowed to carry books inside the Library's grounds, except this one.
7. Only if accompanied by a university teacher or a library staff member, persons not part of the Syndicate, officers, or teaching staff of the University are permitted to access the shelves.
8. After consulting with the Librarian, department chairs may remove books and maps from the Library for a month if needed for ongoing reference about laboratory work or demonstrations in class. These chairmen also ensure the books and maps are kept safely and securely. In any event, the maximum number of books and maps that can be taken out at once is 20.
9. The Syndicate will take appropriate action in each situation if it receives a report about a member of the Syndicate, a non-university employee, or someone who does not have any Library Caution Money to their credit failing to return a book. The University Library should use a uniform system, namely the Card Charging system, to loan books to individuals specially granted access by the Vice-Chancellor. Reports and periodicals, on the other hand, may be issued on printed vouchers intended for this purpose. In each case, the Librarian will determine the best course of action regarding loaning books.
10. A student can only take an examination at the University if all books he has borrowed from the Library have been returned. The Librarian will be notified if the cost of replacing any lost or dead librarians has been paid. This must happen before the student receives his admit card from the Exam Controller's office. Two weeks before the start of their exams, the Librarian will provide a list of students who are in default.
11. The Librarian can refuse book loans, but only if the borrower is present and the Librarian gives a reason for the refusal.
12. Unless the Librarian grants permission in writing, no unbound portion of magazines or books not adequately protected by binding may be borrowed from the Library. Teachers cannot remove textbooks often requested from the Library without the Librarian's consent.
13. Any individual wishing to consult books in the reading rooms who is not a part of the Syndicate, an officer, or a member of the university teaching staff must fill out a slip that is provided for that purpose with his name, address (including the hall, registered number, and class, if he is a student), the call number, and the title of the required book. He must then present the slip to the Issue Assistant who is present. Additionally, upon receiving the book, he will deposit his Library Card. The borrower's Library Card will be returned to him upon the return of the book, and the receipt form will be cancelled in his presence.
14. All readers' library cards, except those belonging to the University's teaching staff, officers, and Syndicate, must be renewed each session.
15. It is recommended that readers and borrowers check the books they are given at the time of issuance and notify the library assistant of any defects, marginal notes, or acts. Any books misplaced, damaged, or annotated by the borrower and returned to the Library must be replaced at his own expense. The borrower must replace the entire set if the damaged or lost volume is part of a set and cannot be replaced separately. At that point, the damaged book or set in question belongs to the borrower.
16. The annual inspection of the general Library will start on March 24 and last for eight working days after that, except for when that date comes on a weekly or other holiday. No matter when they were borrowed, all books must be returned by March 23 at the latest. In those years, the complete inventory verification of the Library will be finished by a plan made specifically for that purpose.
